2018

Jesus: I will give freely to him (her) who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.

This quote is the slogan for 2018. You can find it in Revelation 21:6. A few verses earlier you can read one of my favorite bible quotes:

He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away. (Rev 21:4)

These promises which say something about our future, actually mean the time when we are dead and in heaven or “when the new Jerusalem comes to earth”. Yes indeed, when we “see” God every pain and suffer will be gone away and we will become restored totally. But I also understand this picture language personally as a hopeful prophecy for 2018.

Let me explain that in detail. All that what is predicted for the time after our death I have experienced in the last years. When I look back on the last 10 years in my life I can see that they meant a healing of a lot of my inner wounds and a maturing of my personality. I experienced: the outside circumstances may be bad, but the inner healing isn’t touched by that. In contrary, it seems to me that they were necessary for my healing. And God helped me out of my trouble although I often – I should say – the most of the time, haven’t felt him at all.

He was with me in the last years what is giving me a great hope for the future. The water of life that stills every thirst won’t first flow when we are in heaven but will already flow in 2018. We will experience God’s help and the healing power of his love.

God bless us.

Love is strong as Death (free epub)

loveisstrongasdeath

In the times of facebook, instagram, whatsapp and snapchat it’s hard to find true love. What is really meant seriously or is only a game of flirting with symbols of hearts and blown kisses to feel superficially in love? Often you don’t want to meet in reality, because you are afraid of a real relationship.

Two who were badly in love were the lovers of the book “Song of Songs” presumably written in the 6th century BC. “The Song offers no clue to its author or to the date, place, or circumstances of its composition.” (Wikipedia) but love is timeless and the name of the lovers doesn’t matter. Vice versa therefore it could be “you and me” or every man and woman nowadays. It’s very astonishing that you find the book in the biblical canon. The Christian Church only took it in its Canon, because they understand the verses as symbols for the relationship between Christ and his church. But modern theology doubts that seriously. Me too.

Let yourself be inspired and enriched by this deep words either you are living in a longtime relationship or you are currently in love with somebody!

Dizzy

first I feared your beauty
but your words are killing me
I jumped to the stars
and dived in dark seas
I found nothing what I could give you
that fits your tender love
my brave warrior
I’m longing for your bright eyes
to look into your soul
to touch your lips
I’m so frightened
don’t laugh at me
how long my angel
how long

The Healer

get ready
let your walls be broken
make your heart wide like the horizon
and deep like the ocean
today is the day to surrender
for the one who is

love peace and glory

the thorn-crowned king
is born among us
gentle and careful
his healing hands
he knows
and alleviates every pain
gentle his love
and tender his heart
to reconcile and to free
to heal what is broken
to wipe off every tear
today is the day to come home

Star of Wonder (Tori Amos)

The songs of Tori Amos touch me deeply inside. I’m often not far away from crying and indeed often I did listening to her music and lyrics.

We three kings
Are coming again
Bearing gifts
From the east
From the east

Some say a star will rise again
In the hearts of humankind
Some say we have been in exile
What we need is solar fire

Star of wonder, star of night
Star of royal beauty
Westward leading, still proceeding
A star
Seeding
A star of wonder
