2018

Jesus: I will give freely to him (her) who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.

This quote is the slogan for 2018. You can find it in Revelation 21:6. A few verses earlier you can read one of my favorite bible quotes:

He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away. (Rev 21:4)

These promises which say something about our future, actually mean the time when we are dead and in heaven or “when the new Jerusalem comes to earth”. Yes indeed, when we “see” God every pain and suffer will be gone away and we will become restored totally. But I also understand this picture language personally as a hopeful prophecy for 2018.

Let me explain that in detail. All that what is predicted for the time after our death I have experienced in the last years. When I look back on the last 10 years in my life I can see that they meant a healing of a lot of my inner wounds and a maturing of my personality. I experienced: the outside circumstances may be bad, but the inner healing isn’t touched by that. In contrary, it seems to me that they were necessary for my healing. And God helped me out of my trouble although I often – I should say – the most of the time, haven’t felt him at all.

He was with me in the last years what is giving me a great hope for the future. The water of life that stills every thirst won’t first flow when we are in heaven but will already flow in 2018. We will experience God’s help and the healing power of his love.

God bless us.

Dear Sigrid!

liebe Sigrid

Life gives, life takes, goes its way as God determines, he leads in happiness, he leads through suffering, but everything lasts its time. Keep always still, often it’s unclear, as ever it may come, he loves you! Never be disheartened and ponder and dare!
Already tomorrow comes a day of sun!

With hearty blessing for your future on the day of your confirmation, written for you, dear Sigrid, by your Gretel.

Rabenau, 04.10.1949

A few days ago I found a little notebook in a box with old books standing in front of a house. Only this dedication was in it, the rest of the pages were empty. At first glimpse these lines maybe don’t belong to the higher literature, but seem to be like words in a poetry album, maybe they sound a little bit corny, but they touched me very deeply. The deepness of the meaning finally are emphasized by the date: written at 04.10.1949 – that means written 4 years after World War II.

Gretel, who is close to Sigrid because she maybe is her sister or friend, survived the war. Like Sigrid who was born in the terror regime of the Nazis and who nearly lived during her whole childhood – until she was 10 years – in World War II. Both women experienced the horror.

Germany lays in ruins. Its people are traumatized through the war. How can you assimilate these inner wounds? The experiences of loss of dear humans? By going along with the fate (“hold always still”), because what else can you do?

But behind that stands the experience, every suffering passes by. Suffering and happiness are in God’s hand. “He loves you!”

How childlike and innocent sound this words. There you can’t find any bitterness in her words because of the experienced. No, don’t stand still and look back, Sigrid, you have a future. Therefore don’t be disheartened.

Ponder and dare” means ponder what you are going to do well, think carefully about your next step. But don’t be paralyzed, but dare to go into your future. Hope for tomorrow. It doesn’t remain as bad as today, “already tomorrow comes a day of sun!” God’s blessing may be with you in your future.

Farewell

God make your way smooth and easy
as he always does for his angels

God let his sun shine in your tender heart
his love may heal you that you can love your self
you don’t need any other recognition from outside
to love yourself

when you realize this
you will become free

many misunderstandings
finally I understand
do I really do

go on searching for yourself
and you will find a real treasure
I promise

bye bye angel

your heart is like the sun
your tender arms
aren’t touched by the drops
or are these tears
maybe my own
suffering together
with all what suffers
and is wounded
blessed are those
who still can cry
how strong are those
who can show their true faces
risk to be beaten again
in their vulnerable openness
which is not weakness
but beauty strength and love
