2018

Jesus: I will give freely to him (her) who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.

This quote is the slogan for 2018. You can find it in Revelation 21:6. A few verses earlier you can read one of my favorite bible quotes:

He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away. (Rev 21:4)

These promises which say something about our future, actually mean the time when we are dead and in heaven or “when the new Jerusalem comes to earth”. Yes indeed, when we “see” God every pain and suffer will be gone away and we will become restored totally. But I also understand this picture language personally as a hopeful prophecy for 2018.

Let me explain that in detail. All that what is predicted for the time after our death I have experienced in the last years. When I look back on the last 10 years in my life I can see that they meant a healing of a lot of my inner wounds and a maturing of my personality. I experienced: the outside circumstances may be bad, but the inner healing isn’t touched by that. In contrary, it seems to me that they were necessary for my healing. And God helped me out of my trouble although I often – I should say – the most of the time, haven’t felt him at all.

He was with me in the last years what is giving me a great hope for the future. The water of life that stills every thirst won’t first flow when we are in heaven but will already flow in 2018. We will experience God’s help and the healing power of his love.

God bless us.
